Police have charged a man with attempted rape after investigating an incident at an address off Tropical Gardens Road in George Town on Monday.
According to a statement from the RCIPS, it was reported that, during that morning, a woman had been at her residence when a man known to her arrived.
She told police that the man attempted to force himself sexually on her, ripping her clothes and threatening her.
“The woman resisted the man and a struggle ensued, with the man eventually leaving the location. The woman received minor injuries during the incident,” police said.
The man, age 40, of George Town, was arrested early Tuesday morning, and subsequently charged. He was scheduled to appear today, 5 May.
