Cayman Islands track-and-field star Kareem Streete-Thompson was inducted into the Southwest Conference Hall of Fame on Tuesday, 16 Aug., at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.
Streete-Thompson, 49, who is a three-time Olympian, was one of eight inductees in the 2022 class honoured for their accomplishments in the conference, which was officially dissolved in 1996.
The Caymanian-American athlete swept the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor titles in the long jump his senior year. He also won seven out of eight Southwest Conference long jump titles in addition to earning 11 All-America certificates.
