Ramgeet takes third at jet ski race

Caymanian jet-ski rider Vanjae Ramgeet hit the podium during the P1 AquaX Daytona Beach Grand Prix, in Florida held from 12-14 Aug.

Ramgeet outlasted over 30 riders in the AquaX Pro Enduro class to earn bronze behind Americans Dustin Farthing and James Wilson, who finished first and second, respectively.

Hastings, Jarvis out of US Amateur

Caymanian golfers Justin Hastings and Aaron Jarvis were among 244 players who did not make the cut for the next round of the 122nd U.S. Amateur Championship being held at The Ridgewood Country Club in New Jersey.

At the competition, which began with a field of 312 players, Hastings finished 13-over par 154 while Jarvis carded an 18-over par 159.

Registration open for year-end youth squash programme

Registration has opened for the 2022 autumn term youth programme, the South Sound Squash Club announced.

The programme, which runs 5 Sept. to 9 Dec., will be held from 3:30pm on weekdays, for kids ranging from 6 to 18 years old.

Usman and Edwards headline UFC 278

The final pay-per-view event of the summer for the Ultimate Fighting Championships is set for the Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah on Saturday, 20 Aug.

The event will be headlined by a welterweight championship clash between reigning titleholder Kamaru Usman and standout British challenger Leon Edwards.
