Flow launches Cayman Blue, celebrating 55 years of community partnership

Flow Cayman celebrates the launch of Cayman Blue with members of the C&W Executive Team and Regional Senior Leadership Team.

Flow Cayman has embarked on a program designed to celebrate its 55-year relationship with Cayman communities.

‘Cayman Blue’, as its officially being called, was launched at an internal staff event held in September. Members of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) from C&W Communications, including CEO Inge Smidts, were on island to attend the event which was held at the Georgetown Yacht Club.

Through programs like Cayman Blue, Flow will continue its legacy of investment in the growth of Cayman, and its commitment to connect communities and transform lives. The program will seek to enhance Flow’s presence in Cayman’s residential and business communities by extending the company’s services and products into previously under-served or unserved areas and developing key partnerships with local institutions that provide integral services to those communities.

During the pandemic, Flow Cayman continued to support communities across Cayman distributing laptops and tablets to schools at a time when access to online education was even more critical.   In addition to offering virtual services through its online stores and assisting students by offering free access to its educational portal, Flow Study, the company also donated much needed supplies to schools during this period.

“As our business emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic, it is the perfect time to re-engage the Cayman community,” said Susanna O’ Sullivan, Vice President, North Caribbean.   “Over the last two years it was necessary to change the way we operated and provisioned our services to keep our staff and customers safe, however, now is the perfect time for us to get back into the heart of the communities, and to re-connect with Caymanians where they live and work.

We are making steady progress on the phased roll-out of our super-fast Fiber to the Home network, due to be completed in 2023, and we are committed to connecting Cayman communities in Grand Cayman and the sister islands to a new, enhanced broadband, mobile, and tv experience.  The launch of the Cayman Blue program will now ensure that through targeted solutions and offers that our residential and small business customers are able to maximize their experience at home and move their businesses onto the digital stage. We will also actively seek to partner with more local initiatives that play a vital role in the communities that we connect.  The presence of our CEO and members of our ELT at this launch demonstrates the importance of the Cayman market to our company.  We are proud of our long history of partnership here, and we want to engage even more with our business and residential communities going forward.” remarked O’Sullivan as part of her address to the Flow Cayman team.

The Sunrise Adult Training Center was announced as one of the first community partners of the “Cayman Blue” program. Flow will actively support the center with improved connectivity projects and Flow staff will provide volunteer assistance at the center. The team made a site visit to the center to meet with their management team and to discuss how Flow can partner with the center going forward.

The program will also seek to make it easier for Flow customers to contact the company through its contact center, which will now introduce a local resolution team to close any service issues which may require a more in-depth knowledge of the market to assist customers. We’ve taken the time to listen to our customers and through this program will offer best in class service and experience.

The projects under the Cayman Blue program will be rolled out over the coming months and customers will receive regular progress updates via the company’s social media pages and through media announcements.

Flow Cayman is proud of its history of commitment to the Cayman Islands, and over the last 55 years has celebrated several ‘firsts’.  These include from as far back as 1966 with the introduction of the internal telephone system, followed by the launch of internet service in 1995. More recently, in 2011, Flow introduced 4G, and within two years that quickly evolved into LTE and IPTV.  Flow Cayman began converting its networks to Fiber in 2013 and is committed to its goal of making Cayman a 100% Fiber to the Home Market.
