The Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants will host a two-day conference this week to explore sustainability, leadership, audit, virtual assets, ethics and other topics integral to the financial services industry.

The Momentum conference will be held on 7 and 8 Dec. at the Kimpton Seafire Resort in cooperation with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority.

The event features local and international speakers, including Deputy Premier Chris Saunders, Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy chief executive Rob Whiteman, executive leadership coach Jonathan Lokhorst, RSM chief economist Joe Brusuelas, and Rewired Earth co-founder and PwC United Kingdom Sustainability, Disruption and Innovation Lead David Marriage.

“We are excited to once again join forces with the AICPA & CIMA to hold Momentum, a one-of-its kind regional conference,” CIIPA chief executive officer Sheree Ebanks said in a press release. “We look forward to engaging with our delegates as we learn about the latest developments and trends in financial services, ESG and leadership.”

CIIPA hosted its own, scaled-down version of the summit last year as a result of COVID-19 prevention measures. The hybrid in-person and online event format remains this year, but the resumption of the partnership with the AICPA and CIMA means the conference once again will span two days.
