A man is in hospital being treated for serious injuries after the car he was driving crashed into a traffic light in George Town early this morning, 14 Aug.
Just before 2am, police responded to a report of a crash involving a black Chevrolet Trax on North Sound Road near the intersection with Shedden Road.
“The vehicle had been travelling southbound when it collided with a traffic light,” a police press release said.
Members of the public helped the driver from the vehicle. When emergency services arrived, he was taken by ambulance to the Cayman Islands Hospital.
“The man remains in hospital with what appear to be serious injuries and is in stable condition,” the press release said.
The matter is currently under investigation by the Traffic and Roads Policing Unit.
