The Dream’s Kayah Clarke went on a scoring blitz during the first of two basketball games against Infinity in the Women’s National Basketball League on 5 May.
In a game that ended 99-70, Clarke contributed 66 points – a new national record and the best score in Cayman’s history by a male or female.
The previous record was held by Collin Anglin, at 64 points, set in 2007.
During the game, Clarke was also named MVP after an unbelievable 53.3% conversion rate from the three-point line, nine rebounds, 18 free throws, and the historic 66 points scored.
The Cayman Islands Basketball Association noted in a release that Clarke wasn’t “just on fire” during the game, “she was a blazing inferno”.

Clarke would return to the court for the second game against Infinity on 13 May – the final game of the season and the championship decider.
This game proved more challenging for the Dream. Infinity set a relentless pace throughout the game with counterattacks and top defensive plays; however, the Dream still managed to edge out Infinity, earning a hard-fought 58-54 victory.
Although the win was a team effort, Clarke again stood out after tallying 25 points. She also contributed eight rebounds.
According to CIBA, the final game left fans in awe of the sheer competitiveness and spirit shown by both teams, making it a memorable matchup in the history of the league.
In addition to lifting the championship trophy with her teammates, Clarke finished as the MVP for both games, averaging 45 points over the two dates.
