EY announces the retirement of Keiran Hutchison, EY Cayman Partner, and EY-Parthenon and Strategy & Transactions (SaT) Leader for the EY Region of the Bahamas, Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, and the Cayman Islands, after 25 years with the firm.

Keiran, who joined EY Cayman in 2012, provides restructuring advice to companies, funds and financial institutions in financial distress and has been appointed by courts and regulators to manage insolvencies in the region. Before moving to Cayman, Keiran spent 13 years in the restructuring practice of EY Australia in Sydney.

Keiran is succeeded by Igal Wizman, who has led the EY Bahamas SaT team for more than eight years. In his new role as SaT Regional Leader, Igal will oversee the team’s support for clients with restructurings, valuations, transaction diligence and M&A advisory across the region.

Igal, an EY Bahamas Partner, has 17 years’ experience advising corporations and lenders on corporate finance matters, restructuring, insolvencies and asset recovery work. He started his EY career in Montreal, Canada, in 2004 and spent his first three years as a risk advisory consultant before moving into the restructuring team.

Michele Thompson, EY Regional Managing Partner, said: “I would like to thank Keiran for his great contribution over the past 12 years. During his tenure, the SaT team significantly increased its market footprint, talent base and service lines, and handled a series of high-profile liquidations and restructurings. We wish Keiran well in his next chapter.

“Igal has been instrumental in the growth of our SaT business and has played a key role in expanding service lines to include government and hospitality engagements. I’m sure under Igal’s leadership, we will continue to help our clients rapidly solve business challenges in urgent and complex situations and help them reshape for a better future.”

Jeffrey Short, EY Cayman Country Managing Partner, said: “Keiran’s leadership, dedication and expertise in the restructuring field will be missed by his colleagues and clients alike. He has consistently lived the EY values of integrity, respect, teaming and inclusiveness, and outside the office, has made a positive impact in the community as a board member of Jasmine Hospice Care and The Rotary Club of Grand Cayman. We wish Keiran a very happy retirement.

“We are fortunate to be able to draw from a strong bench of talent in the SaT team and to promote from within. I am confident Igal and the team will continue to deliver leadership to help our clients navigate difficult and complex situations and achieve positive outcomes.”

Igal added: “I want to acknowledge Keiran’s outstanding regional leadership over the past 12 years. During his tenure, he oversaw a strong growth in our SaT business, expanded our team of experienced professionals and added to our service lines. He leaves big shoes to fill and I look forward to continuing our commitment to excellence in client service that EY is known for. Going forward the regional practice is now extremely well supported by our strong Cayman SaT team led by Eleanor Fisher, Joel Edwards and Robert Crocket.”

Keiran said: “It has been an honor to have led the SaT practice for the past 12+ years and I will miss the opportunity of working with so many outstanding EY professionals in serving our client’s needs, but I look forward to seeing the practice prosper and grow as it moves forward with its new dynamic team.”
