Eating local produce is good for the economy, your health and the environment. Locally grown produce can be found island-wide, at quaint roadside stands, direct from farms, or in larger supermarket chains. Check out these locations and add them into your weekly food shop.

Local Product hotspots
THE BRASSERIE QUARTERLY FARMERS MARKET, CRICKET SQUARE

Cricket Square hosts a quarterly farmers market, which generally falls around Christmas, Ash Wednesday and Earth Day, at the entrance to the Brasserie Market and restaurant. It offers Brasserie products such as bee products sourced from Brasserie hives, eggs from Chateau Chooks, fresh fruits and vegetables, coconut products, baked goods and preserves. Market hours are 11:30am-1:30pm.
CAMANA BAY LOCAL HARVEST MARKET

Wednesdays, 10am-4pm under the solar array opposite Jessie’s Juice Bar. In high season,
from November to the end of April, this changes to a full Farmers & Artisans Market on the Paseo, Wednesdays 10am-5pm.
PLANTATION ORGANICS
Situated at 35 Doubloon Drive in Bodden Town, Plantation Organics has its own garden, hosts farm-to-table dinners, tours and private events and has its own farmers market and plant nursery. The market is open Sundays 1-5pm, and produce can also be found at The Hamlin Stephenson Market in George Town.
THE HAMLIN STEPHENSON MARKET AT THE CRICKET GROUNDS
This lively, popular market takes place next to the cricket pitch on Huldah Avenue, and offers a wide array of produce and locally made items. Open Monday to Friday, 7am-6pm, and Saturdays 6am-6:30pm.
CAYMAN FARM & GARDEN

Patrick Panton is a well-known farmer on island, selling his fresh produce at markets such as Camana Bay and The Hamlin Stephenson Market. He also sells from his farm in Bodden Town, or delivers. ROADSIDE PRODUCE STANDS
Look out island-wide for roadside produce stands, many selling fresh fruit and vegetables from local growers.
THE FISH MARKET
The fish market in George Town is a great place to stop by for freshly caught fish which are scaled, cleaned, and, if you wish, filleted.
SUPERMARKET LOCALLY GROWN SECTIONS
Major supermarkets stock locally grown produce, and it is usually clearly marked as such. Local fruits, vegetables, herbs, meat and fish can all be conveniently purchased during your weekly supermarket shop.
ONE TO WATCH OUT FOR…
