Prepare to be swept away by a whirlwind of creativity as the Cayman National Cultural Foundation (“CNCF”) proudly unveils an expanded edition of CAYFEST 2025. Over 20 dazzling days, this festival transforms into a radiant stage where digital innovation meets time-honoured tradition, and where every performance, workshop, and discussion sparkles with the heartbeat of the Cayman Islands.
A Festival Like No Other
CAYFEST 2025 promises a sensory feast for the soul – a harmonious blend of live panel discussions, spellbinding film screenings, interactive music workshops, and engaging shows that echo the island’s rich cultural legacy. Venues such as the Harquail Theatre, the Minds Eye Centre, the National Gallery and other iconic spaces will burst into life with an eclectic mix of free and ticketed events.
A Kaleidoscope of Culture and Creativity
At its heart, Cayfest 2025 is a vivid celebration of both traditional and contemporary art forms – from stirring storytelling and captivating dance to avant-garde film and bold productions. By partnering with renowned local artists and cultural institutions like Randy Chollette, Beneil Miller, Jazz Pitcairn, Matt Brown, Brand Caribe, and The National Gallery of the Cayman Islands, the festival creates an inspiring mosaic of sounds, sights, and narratives that reflect the soul of Caymanian life.
The theme “CAYFEST 2025: Kaleidoscope – Boundless creativity, Innovation, Every corner in every colour” perfectly embodies the spirit of our newly expanded festival structure. Just as a kaleidoscope reveals a mesmerizing, ever-changing array of patterns, CAYFEST 2025 unfolds over 20 vibrant days, showcasing a dynamic mix of artistic expressions that mirror the infinite creativity of our community. This theme captures the festival’s commitment to exploring every facet of artistic endeavor, ensuring that every corner of our creative community shines in its own brilliant colour.
Empowering Local Voices
This year’s festival expansion is a testament to the flourishing arts community in Cayman, addressing a growing appetite for creative expression. As many artists seize this unique opportunity – granted exclusive access during a time otherwise monopolized by rentals – CAYFEST 2025 becomes the singular canvas for projects fueled by passion and vision, inviting the public to witness innovation in its purest form.
Highlights include a transformative Elite Dance Masterclass with Marlon Simms, an exclusive screening of *Ivan* by Jazz Pitcairn, the immersive Red Boat Experience by Randy Chollette, and the cinematic showcase of local filmmakers at Cayfest on Film. Don’t miss out – secure your spot now and join us for these unforgettable events!
A Grand Finale: “Red Sky at Night”
The festival will culminate in the breathtaking “Red Sky at Night,” a signature event now in its 12th year. On Saturday, 22 March, from 4pm to 11pm, the F.J. Harquail Cultural Centre will transform into an enchanted realm where the island’s cultural heartbeat is on full display. Imagine dual sound stages – one nestled within the Harquail Theatre and another set against the starlit backdrop of The Square – coming alive with rhythms, poetic singing, and theatrical magic.

Headlining the evening, the Swanky Kitchen Band will electrify the stage, heralding a night where every note and movement celebrates Cayman’s rich cultural heritage. Nearly 50 local artisans will line the Thatch Walks, offering a sensory journey through their vibrant creations – ranging from intricate jewellery to bespoke fashion – while Café Cayman tempts with a delectable array of local culinary delights. For families, the Visual Arts Society’s Creative Kids area will spark the imaginations of young minds, and the Caymanian Village will invite visitors to step back in time, experiencing heritage demonstrations and interactive cultural displays that evoke the island’s storied past.
