Update: 3:50pm: The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service has confirmed that missing teens Tashaena Williams and Kylah Watson have been located and are now home safely.
Original story: Police are appealing to the public for assistance in locating two missing teens from the Bodden Town area.
Tashaena Williams and Kylah Watson, both 15 years old, were last seen leaving their home in Lower Valley around 7:45pm on Saturday, 5 July. Since then, the girls have not returned, and police say efforts to locate them have so far been unsuccessful.
Tashaena was last seen wearing a multi-coloured hoodie jacket and dark blue shorts. Kylah was dressed in a long-sleeve red crop top and black leggings.
Investigators believe the girls may have left the Bodden Town district and have since launched an island-wide search in a bid to locate them.
Police are urging anyone who may have seen the teens or who has information about their whereabouts to contact 9-1-1 immediately.
The girls themselves are being urged to turn themselves in at the nearest police station for their own safety.
In a statement, police also reminded the public that anyone found to be harbouring or concealing a young person may face criminal charges. Under Cayman Islands law, doing so is an offence punishable by a fine of $2,000 and up to three months in prison.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Bodden Town Police Station at 927-2220 or the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) at 649-6000.
Anonymous tips that may assist in locating the missing teens can be submitted by calling the RCIPS Confidential Tip Line at 949-7777, through the RCIPS website, or via Cayman Crime Stoppers, either online or through the mobile app.
