The University College of the Cayman Islands and Celebrations Group Ltd. have established a scholarship for students pursuing hospitality management at the university in fall 2025.
The Celebrations Group Scholarship will provide $2,000 in financial support for the 2025-26 academic year, covering tuition, fees, books and course materials for a Caymanian student enrolled in UCCI’s hospitality management programme. The recipient will also complete a three-to-six-month paid internship with Celebrations, gaining real-world experience with the company.
“This partnership represents exactly the kind of innovative approach we need to develop Cayman’s next generation of hospitality and events professionals,” Livingston Smith, acting president and CEO of UCCI, said in a press release. “By combining financial support with practical industry experience, we’re removing barriers to education while ensuring our students graduate with both academic credentials and market-ready skills.”
The scholarship targets students who demonstrate financial need, maintain a minimum 2.5 grade point average and show a strong commitment to academic achievement and community leadership. Selection will be made by UCCI’s Scholarship Committee.
Jo-Anne V. Brown, CEO of Celebrations Group, emphasised the company’s commitment to local talent development.
“This scholarship reflects our belief that investing in Caymanian students today creates the skilled professionals who will drive our industry’s continued success tomorrow,” she said in the release.
Eligible candidates must be Caymanians enrolled in or accepted to relevant programmes at UCCI. Application requirements and deadlines are available at the UCCI website. The deadline to apply for fall 2025 is 4 Aug.
