At 6:30pm fourth-place PWC Scorpions battles third-seeded Electra-Tech Pure Energy.
Then at 8:30pm the two heavyweights of the league square off in CML Hammerheads and Kroll Risky Business.
The match is slated to place on field two of the Field of Dreams facility.
Both teams are coming off their first-round playoff games last week. PWC just feel short of a monumental win over number one seed CML Hammerheads.
Hammerheads just got by the Scorpions 1-0. Strong fielding and good all-around defensive effort kept PWC off the scoreboard on the night.
Meanwhile Pure Energy ran out of boost against Kroll Risky Business. Kroll ran away with things as they posted a lop-sided score of 18-3.
Much of the Kroll success came from a solid line-up, orchestrated by Coach Tom Peterson, which hit the ball hard to all fields.
Peterson himself would get in on the act slapping in a few hits and holding his own on the mound.
Pure Energy did its best to keep the Kroll side on its toes. Plenty of players got the nod on the mound, including team spark-plug Dave Phipps.
Phipps would have a good game all-around, flashing some solid swings in the box and fielding his share of line drives.
Tonight’s match-up should see a number of key players in action. For PWC look for super-utility man Steve Chapman to lead the way. Chapman pitched well against CML and flashed a solid bat.
Meanwhile Electra-Tech will counter with plenty of athleticism courtesy of athletic trio Colin Bodden, Taj Haye and Darren Trickett.
All had solid games with Bodden and Haye showing great glove work in the field. Trickett was a force in the box, connecting well with many pitches.
In the CML-Kroll game look for a solid display of hitting. CML flashed a decent line-up last week and though Kroll didn’t give up much runs they should be able to get home a couple.
Meanwhile Kroll will certainly be up to task with Peterson looking to get revenge on the Hammerheads after losing a highly-contested match during the regular season.
