An underwater clean-up at Divetech’s Turtle Reef is set for Sunday, 24 April as part of Earth Week celebrations.
Free tanks and weights will be provided all day to those helping clean up underwater debris off the reefs. Bags, gloves, tanks and weights will also be provided to participants.
The clean-up runs from 8am to 4pm.
A briefing will be given on safe clean-up guidelines for the underwater environment. The first 12 divers to join will receive free Earth Day t-shirts.
The Cracked Conch will be hosting a happy hour with drink specials and appetizers following the underwater clean-up, starting at 5pm.
At 4pm, participants can take part in a turtle release from the Cayman Turtle Farm. Dedicated to release, research, education and commercial programmes, the Turtle Farm will be providing a turtle for each participant to release to celebrate Earth Day.
