Joanne Diaz-Berry has joined the staff of the Cayman Islands Cancer Society.
Mrs. Diaz-Berry is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Pastoral Psychology and Counseling from St. Stephen’s College, in Alberta, Canada. She became interested in the Society in 1997 when her mother passed away from cancer, which shortly followed the death of her grandmother from lung cancer.
‘These personal experiences highlighted the importance for supporting groups such as the Society and HospiceCare which dedicate themselves to educating the community about cancer and cancer related issues,’ she said.
‘I look forward to contributing in any way possible to the aims and goals of the Society. I hope to put to use my dedication, enthusiasm and compassion, and look forward to meeting all of the supporters of the Society who so generously give of their time, talent and resources.’
