With the theme of ‘My Fair Ladies’, the Bosom Buddies held a high tea to raise funds and encourage support for cancer patients.
The tea, hosted by Mrs. Lisa Scott and Ms Karen Ryan on 18 June, featured a friendly hat competition. Although not all of the guests chose to wear a hat, there was a good variety of new and classic styles.
Ms Nan Erb, who decorated her chapeau with fresh flowers, was declared the winner. Ms Sharri Ebanks was first runner-up in sophisticated black and gold, accentuated by white pearls.
Ms Glennita Whittaker displayed gift baskets she had made for sale. She donated half of the proceeds to Bosom Buddies. Grand Old House and The English Bakery catered the event.
Founding member Ms Ann James thanked all who attended for their support. Bosom Buddies is a non-profit organisation formed to assist cancer patients not only emotionally but also with practical advice and financial aid.
