Local author Terri Merren made a $5,000.00 donation to the Love In Action program last week to help families in need repair their homes.
Love In Action was organised by the Cayman Ministers’ Association in the aftermath of Hurricane Ivan to assist needy families in their efforts to repair and return to their homes.
Mrs. Merren said that this donation was possible through the sale of her book Hurricane Ivan Survival Stories, which to date has sold more than 5,000 copies locally.
She further expressed appreciation for the CMA’s effort to assist families and was impressed with stories she heard from members of the community whom she visited and who had received help either of materials or labour from the CMA’s effort.
She hoped this donation would further assist families to return to some degree of normality and comfort in as short a time as possible.
Pastor Al Ebanks, speaking on behalf of the CMA, expressed appreciation and commended Mrs. Merren for her generosity. ‘Without such kind acts by members of the community, the Love in Action Program could not have achieved so much success since its inception.’
