Sharing a cup of tea

Members of the Pink Ladies association enjoyed a summer afternoon tea at the home of Kathleen Murphy, Thursday.

About 30 ladies including the Governor’s wife, Mrs Emma Dinwiddy, dressed in elegant casual summer wear, dined on finger sandwiches and daintily cut cake slices served with teas in decorated china wear.

Meeting with friends they shared stories and pictures drank tea, nibbled sandwiches and luxuriated in the relaxing atmosphere of the Murphy’s backyard.

This tea party was not confined to the home, guests also made themselves comfortable in the backyard

The ambience was idyllic for a tea party. Flowers in Mrs Murphy’s garden provided a vibrant kaleidoscope of colours. Water from a pool reflected the evening sun and the backdrop of avid golfers enjoying a swing on the turf was the perfect setting for this affair.
