Red Cross was the recipient of US $3,000 raised as a post hurricane fundraiser by Anne Flinn Powell in conjunction with Red Sail Sports. Anne, a long friend and ex resident of Grand Cayman, donated her Cayman Islands 2005 calendar to be sold over the internet on the Red Sail Sports web page to raise money immediately after Hurricane Ivan. She continues to document and update the islands reconstruction and her photos of this process can be seen on Caymanphoto.com.
Jondo Obi, the Red Cross Director said the funds would be used as part of their shelter preparation costs for future hurricanes.
The Red Cross is an important part of the shelter team, providing emergency supplies and wardens to assist in the preparation plans.
