Cayman is in line for a mini conference for sport – along the lines of the recent education conference.
Minister Alden McLaughlin told the Cabinet press briefing that he had met all the staff at the Sports Department, which had been based at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex since Hurricane Ivan.
Mr. McLaughlin told the Friday briefing that it was very clear how passionate coaches and other staff were about what they did.
Issues had been raised about the need for improvements in sports facilities post Ivan, better office accommodation and the need for a focused national sports plan, he said.
Staff had called for the mini conference to address the issues and he had given them that commitment, he told the briefing.
