People came out early and in force to support Triple C in their annual 5K walk/run 3 December, with 126 walkers taking part.
Marjorie Ebanks, the school’s principal, expressed appreciation for all of the participants.
‘We were supported by a number of people from the community for which we are very grateful. The profits were close to $7,000. The student who raised the most was Ravyn Rankin in Grade 5 with $542.59,’ she said.
The event was held to raise money to buy a new school bus, but more funds are still needed, Mrs. Ebanks explained.
‘We did not realise our goal but we will be doing further fundraising in the new year,’ she said.
Hurley’s Marketplace was the event’s major sponsor but the school also received support from other companies including Subway and Foster’s Food Fair, Mrs. Ebanks added.
