WestStar TV Ltd. has announced the addition of two popular and well-established Caribbean channels to its current Basic digital cable TV package, at no additional cost to subscribers.
New lifestyle channels Caribvision and Hype TV are now available to WestStar digital customers on channels 38 and 39, respectively. The two stations give viewers a comprehensive look at all things Caribbean, from art and culture to sports and entertainment, and succeed in bringing the best of the region to life.
‘It’s all about adding value for money,’ says Richard Corbin, Operations Manager. ‘Customers love our digital line-up and we are always striving to make it even more compelling. With these two new channels our customers can enjoy some of the top Caribbean programming available today and yet we are keeping the monthly cost for the Basic digital package the same.’
Caribvision caters for young and old with a large variety of Caribbean-specific programmes. Viewers can tune in for the best in local food with Caribbean Cuisine, travel with Caribbean Escapes or brush up on their reading with Book Talk.
Caribvision offers something for the whole family with kids’ entertainment programmes, documentaries, religious talks and regular news updates brought to you by Caribbean Today. The channel also keeps an eye on the rest of the world with live coverage and updates from international sporting events.
Hype TV is funky, hip and on the edge of youth entertainment with shows from across the Caribbean featuring an in-depth look at music, fashion, artists, culture and entertainment. Settle in for the latest in fashion with Style 360 or join a different guest host every week on Hype Video Countdown for a look at the hottest videos straight off the charts.
Viewers can tune into Hype News as their definitive source of what’s happening in entertainment in the Caribbean or simply switch on to The Best of Hype for a weekly wrap on all the best hits and entertainment highlights.
In addition to Caribvision and Hype TV, since 1 February WestStar TV has introduced 16 new channels to enhance the add-on packages in its digital line-up. The Family and Variety package introduced Animal Planet, Fine Living, Tempo, Discovery Health, Boomerang, and Discovery Kids. The Sports and Info package now features DIY, Fuel, Discovery Travel, BBC America, Wealth TV and Discovery People. The Alternative Languages package added two new channels: CNN Espanol and Fox Soccer Channel Espanol.
WestStar will continue to expand digital programming options for its customers in the coming months.
