ACE Paint and Décor, a division of Associated Industries Ltd and part of the A1 group of companies, was honoured as being the largest retailer of ACE paint in the world. According to company officials, after the passage of Hurricane Ivan, the company sold more than one million gallons of paint.

‘The decision (to award ACE Paint and Décor) was based purely on volume. Any store in the world who purchased and sold that amount of paint deserves recognition,’ said David F. Myer, Senior VP of the International Paint Division of US-based ACE Hardware Corporation.

ACE Paint and Décor was awarded a priceless crystal vase and several other plaques for their status as among the world’s leading paint stores.

‘ACE is among the top ten manufacturing companies in the US. There are 5,000 ACE stores in 70 countries worldwide,’ stated Jim Roberts, Commercial Sales Specialist for the ACE Paint Division of ACE Hardware Corporation. ‘To have so much paint being sold in a single store is unheard of.’

Employees of ACE Paint and Décor were on hand to accept the awards along with representatives from Associated Industries Ltd and the A1 Group.

‘I am very pleased. But all the acclaim should go to my staff, headed by Alva Suckoo, our paint store manager, and their excellent salesmanship. They were able to sell while pleasing the customer,’ said Keith ‘Parker’ Tibbetts Jr., owner of ACE Paint and Décor and President of Associated Industries Ltd and the A1 Group.

‘They sold ACE Paint, not me. If it was not for them, my company would not have done so well.’
