Andrew Rosindell, one of the five British Members of Parliament visiting the Cayman Islands, stopped by the Philatelic Bureau last week.
Mr. Rosindell, an avid philatelist, who enjoys collecting stamps, especially those with the Royals or British overseas territories themes, said stamps issued by the Cayman Islands Postal Service impressed him.
‘Cayman Islands stamps are beautiful. Stamps are wonderful teaching tools. They can teach children about geography, culture and looking at details,’ Mr. Rosindell said in a press release.
The member from the House of Commons presented Postmaster General Sheena Glasgow with a poster of the Queen’s 80th birthday celebration. Mr. Rosindell did not walk away empty handed either, as Philatelic Manager, Karen McField gave him postcards, a First Day Cover and souvenir sheet from the CIPS’s newest stamp release – Cayman’s Aquatic Treasure.
Ms Glasgow said she was pleased that the visiting MP was able to take the time out of his busy schedule to drop by the Philatelic Bureau.
‘We were honoured that Mr. Rosindell visited us and were encouraged by his compliments of our stamps.’
