Three non-profit organisations in the Cayman Island will each receive a part of $7,000 thanks to four members of PricewaterhouseCoopers.

The Cayman Islands Humane Society, a shelter for animals and a second hand clothing and book store, receives $2,000. Cayman Sexual Harassment and Stalking Taskforce will receive $2,000 and GOAL, a registered international humanitarian effort, will receive $3,000.
At the offices in Strathvale House last Wednesday afternoon Damian McCallion was presented with a cheque for $3,000 for his choice of GOAL. Damian donated more than 1,400 hours helping the people of Mozambique, Africa by distributing various humanitarian items and working with an HIV/AIDS foundation to build a testing clinic for the disease.
Caron Warner and Marlene St. Jean spent more than 150 hours helping out at the Cayman Islands Humane Society by walking dogs and assisting in various other chores both at the thrift shop and the animal shelter. For their efforts Caron and Marlene received $2,000 for the society.
Lanishka Farrington-McSweeney, assisting a group of 30 to 40 professional people seeking government’s recommendation in addressing sexual abuse and stalking in the Cayman Islands, received $2,000 for the Crisis Centre.
PwC Managing Partner Nick Freeland said he was only too happy to recognise members of the office for their time and effort assisting the non-profit causes. ‘It helps to raises awareness, community development and inspires others to get involved,’ he said.
PwC sponsors specific community programmes such as the Young Caymanian Leadership Award, Junior Rugby Team, Basketball Association, CI Little League, CAYS, Cancer Society, Habitat for Humanity, National Recovery, National Trust and Junior Achievement with an annual budge in excess of $100,000. The company encourages staff members to participate in these programmes.
The firm also sponsors a number of island social and sporting events and teams participating in corporate competitions and tournaments.
