The first of seven youth rugby tournaments will take place this Saturday, October 14, at the South Sound Rugby Pitch. PriceWaterhouseCoopers are the title sponsors of the first tournament of the series and will provide each participant with a Rugby ball to keep and practice with.
Boys and girls from ages two all the way up to sixteen will be participating in the first competition of the year.
At 8am – 9am the under 4, under 6 and under 8 age groups will compete with the girls between 10am and 11am and the under 12 and under 14 set to play between 11am and noon.
Each age group is split into three club sides and plays a round robin series of matches at each tournament.
The team with the most points ay the end of all seven tournaments will be the winning team for the season.
The tournaments are planned to take place every three to four weeks during the season and the organizers of the series are very grateful to all of the tournaments sponsors who have so kindly offered to help with the financing and organization of the competition.
Players of all abilities including new comers are always welcome to join the junior programs which run every Saturday from September through May of each year at the South Sound Pitch. The cost is j$25 a year.
