Taste the Thunder from Down Under

Fine dining doesn’t get much better than the Westin Casuarina’s winemaker dinners with a new series starting 13 October. There’s an impressive ‘Thunder from Down Under’ lineup of wines to kick-start the 2006/2007 season, with New Zealand’s Grove Mill winery and Australia’s Brown Brothers teaming up this month for a double New World whammy.

Brown Brothers is one of the few remaining family-owned wineries with an estate that has the largest range of varietals wines from Australia and diners will be able to enjoy three wines from this winery, under the Patricia label (the matriarch of the winery and a passionate winemaker). Grove Mill was established in Marlborough in 1988, with the intention of making premium quality varietal wines that fully capture and reflect the delicious and unique intensity of Marlborough grapes.

Since that time Grove Mill has established a worldwide reputation for distinctive wines that are full flavoured, food friendly, complex, elegant and well balanced.

Cuisine to accompany the wines will blend French cooking techniques with Asian ingredients, a true reflection of the fusion of flavours coming out of Australian and New Zealand kitchens right now.
