Dr. Frank’s trial set

Former government minister Frank McField appeared in Summary Court on Thursday, when his trial date was set for 13 and 15 February 2007.

Dr. Frank formally entered pleas of not guilty to 10 charges arising from an incident on Shamrock Road in the early hours of 15 September. The incident occurred after a fatal road accident in the area.

Two charges were for threatening violence and Magistrate Grace Donalds told the defendant he had the right to elect Grand Court or consent to Summary Court for trial of these matters.

Dr. Frank chose Summary Court, which means that the trial will be before the magistrate and there will not be a jury.

In addition to the charges of allegedly threatening two police officers, Dr. Frank pleaded not guilty to two charges each of assaulting police, obstructing police, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
