The law of unintended consequences

Hmm… Mr. McLaughlin states: ‘Either we have the rollover policy, or we concede the inevitability that people with no historical connection with the Islands will be in the majority in a very short time.’

With expats forming the majority of the population at present and with the rollover policy forcing the departure of people who (in many cases) have put down roots here (i.e. volunteered, joined churches, learned about Cayman and its culture, maybe even bought homes), I suspect the latter part of the statement above will be true no matter what.

The law of unintended consequences seems to apply here.
