Excitement is mounting for Triple C’s annual Fun in the Sun 5K Walk/Run which takes place this Saturday.
Triple C parents, staff and students will be out in force for the annual event, which begins at 7.30am at the Public Beach on Seven Mile Road.
Walking for fitness and for dollars, students, parents and friends will walk and/or run on the beach or on the road to raise at least $20,000 to support the budget for special equipment, material and supplies and to win great prizes, said a press release from the school.
There will also be class competitions. Refreshments and water-stops will be provided.
Registration is $20 and includes a T-shirt for the first 100 walkers. T-shirts will also be given to any student who raises $30 or more from sponsors.
There will be lots of random prizes for both sponsored and registered walkers along with prizes for anyone raising more than $100.
The top prize of $50 will go to the person raising the most money above $400.
‘This is a perfect opportunity for family time on the walk and at the beach. Walk with us and for us’ and help us achieve our goal,’ the release said.
