The Sister Islands Agricultural Show will be held at a new venue on Saturday, 24 February.
The event is to be staged on approximately two acres of government-owned land on the Bluff, according to the Agricultural Department’s Chief Agricultural and Veterinary Officer, Dr. Alfred Benjamin.
He said the main reason for the move from Spotts Bay to the site off Song Bird Road was that the annual event had ‘grown significantly since its inception.’
Dr. Benjamin said that his department was working closely with the show’s organisers in staging the event. He added that the venue was in a location earmarked for agricultural development in Cayman Brac.
Mr. Mark Tibbetts, chairman of the show’s organising committees, said the event would be open to the public from 8am to 5pm.
He was unable to comment further on the 2007 show as the schedule was still being finalised.
‘We hope to have more information to give out soon and anticipate the show being bigger than in previous years,’ he said.
