A new date has been set for the National Museum, Rebuilding Fundraiser at the newly opened Bed Restaurant, organisers announced.
The event will be held on Monday, 5 March. The fundraiser was originally scheduled for Monday, 18 December; however was moved to its new date as organisers felt it was too close to Christmas.
Organisers said the extra planning time has allowed more pledges for the planned silent auction to come in and for more partners to join the campaign.
‘A membership to the Cayman Islands Sailing Club and a dinner for six catered in your own home by Mise-En-Place has been added to an already awesome list of auction items, including a home JBL I-Pod centre from Eminent Audio, a Sorelli necklace from Island Companies, and an exciting Heritage gift package from the Museum Gift Shop,’ said organiser Craig Urchyshyn of Oneworld Ltd.
The fundraiser will start at 6pm with a cocktail hour and silent auction. An exceptional five-course meal, with wine pairings, will follow. Head Chef, Michael Facey, will be presenting an exotic fish tea, followed by a Thai shrimp noodle salad, and a key lime sorbet intermezzo. The main course will be a choice of free-range chicken breast stuffed with fresh mozzarella and julienne vegetables, local snapper in tomato caper butter, or vegetable pasta, followed by a banana spring roll with Bailey’s Cream. Wine and beverage pairings will be arranged by Bed’s own wine Semillon.
Violinist Kate Alenger and Saxophonist Gary Ebanks have volunteered their talents as accompaniment to DJ Craig Urchyshyn’s. Accomplished Cayman poet, Leonard Dilbert, will be presenting between-course poetry readings. Event planner and organizer, Oneworld Ltd, is sponsoring and volunteering all of its time and costs for the fundraiser, while Bed has offered its entire restaurant for the evening.
Other contributors include Cayman Distributors, Big Daddy’s, Jacques Scott, Blackbeard’s, Progressive, Cayman Imports, Island Supply, and Caribbean Gourmet Food are all contributors that are making this Dinner-Fundraiser Possible.
Dinner Tickets are $100 person and just 90 tickets are available. Tickets are available at Bed from 6pm to 11pm or by calling 917-9044, and must be purchased by table.
