Mr. Solomon needs to polish his act

In response to the article in the Cayman Net News titled ‘Radio Host and Minister tangle at press briefing’ I cannot understand why Mr. Solomon is battling with the Minister Mr. McLauglin on this issue when clearly if there are qualified Caymanians who can fill the post as the Director of Employment Relations then let them apply.

This is the normal practice when someone is vying for a position in any capacity, whether public or private.

Mr. Solomon, since you are adamant about a Caymanian being put in the post, I would hope that we see your resume on the horizon addressed to the Minister, because from your consistent echoes over the airwaves and otherwise it would appear you are the qualified one we are searching for.

If any of the individuals working in the Department of Employment Relations feel strongly that they are qualified to fill the position vacated by Walling Whittaker then please send in your resume and qualifications to support same, so Ellio can nurse his rising blood pressure on this issue.

I do agree that more Caymanians need to be identified and given the opportunity to succeed in their country. But the constant badgering of the Government Ministers by Mr. Solomon on his talk show and now in person is telling me that you, Mr. Solomon, are not acting in the professional manner I would have expected from you.

The Ministers in this country must be treated with respect, and this respect must be extended to all elected officials. We do not want to end up sounding like a barrel of crabs.

Come on Mr. Solomon, I am expecting much better from you, a young, ambitious, vocal Caymanian like myself. I wish I could be a voice of everyone, but we as Caymanians have to unite and speak for ourselves and stand firm to our beliefs and values, and forget about being afraid of being victimized.

If someone victimized you then simply expose them and move on. This is your country and you must have equal opportunity on all levels. I pray that we can all get along for the goodness and future of our beloved country.
