A couple from Minnesota has won a holiday for two in Cayman in a draw run by the Pirates Week Gift Shop.
Aaron and Liza Lorenzen of Chanhassen, Minnesota won the trip, worth approximately $5,000. The couple had been in Cayman on their honeymoon earlier in the year and had visited the shop.
Speaking from his home, Mr. Lorenzen said he had forgotten about entering the draw.
‘We really enjoyed our time in Cayman, it was our first visit, so I guess this is first time lucky,’ he said. ‘We’re really looking forward to coming back.’
Endorsed by the Department of Tourism, the trip is supported by Cayman Airways, the Westin Casuarina Hotel, Breezes by the Bay, Budget Rent-a-Car, Tortuga Rum, Pedro Castle and the Botanic Park.
This is the third year the draw has been run, with the entry forms being used to generate a database of visitors who are interested in the festival.
Pirates Week, now celebrating its 30th anniversary, with special celebrations planned, runs from 8-18 November.
