Tony’s Toys opens lube centre

Tony’s Toys marked the grand opening of its Castrol Xpress Lube Centre recently while celebrating its ninth anniversary at the Chamber of Commerce’s Business after Hours event.

A sizeable crowd braved a wet evening to share the event with Managing Director Tony Williams and his staff and to witness the ribbon-cutting that signaled the official opening of an additional service to the company’s line of automotive businesses.

Mr. Williams also announced a major environmental initiative between Tony’s Toys and Castrol; the launch of a campaign billed as ‘Go Green, Go Castrol’.

Through this programme, Tony’s Toys will be adopting and engaging in practices that protect the local environment. These will include environmentally-safe disposal of waste oils and use batteries, Mr. Williams said.

The ‘Go Green, Go Castrol’ initiative is to be officially launched in the coming months.

‘I believe this is an important part of our way forward and through Go Green, Go Castrol, we at Tony’s Toys will be demonstrating our commitment to the preservation of Cayman’s environment,’ Mr. Williams said.

The Castrol Xpress Lube Centre is housed in a state-of-the-art building, a new addition to the Sherwood Drive complex in the Industrial Park that houses the Tony’s Toy’s offices, retail store and service centre.

‘The lube centre will provide quick, efficient oil changes, using high performance Castrol products,’ Mr. Williams stated.

The main building has been renovated to provide a spacious waiting area, equipped with a computer, television and supplied with refreshments. Customers can relax in comfort, watch TV or access the Internet, while they wait for their cars to be serviced, Mr. Williams said.

In addition, customers can have their vehicles picked up for service and returned to them on completion.

Mr. Williams spoke glowingly of a deepening relationship with Castrol, which he said has blossomed since he began selling its products in 2003.

‘Since then we have expanded the Castrol line of automotive lubricants to include oils for the trucking and heavy equipment industry. It is as a result of this fantastic working relationship with Castrol, that we can open the lube centre.

He welcomed to the event Castrol’s representative, Ms. Varsha Raju, CEO of Castrol and Miguel Zamorrano, Castrol’s distributor channel manager for the Caribbean region.

Ms Raju noted the growth in sales of Castrol products at Tony’s Toys.
