Jamaica are through to the semi-finals of the KFC Cup thanks to a spectacular 71 by captain Chris Gayle.
They crushed feeble West Indies U-19s at the Enmore Community Centre ground, in Guyana by nine wickets. The youngsters scored only 110 in 36.4 overs.
Gayle unleashed a typical onslaught, racing to 50 off just 31 deliveries. He was particularly severe on pacer Kelbert Walters, taking 18 runs off his last over before lunch. When Gayle went, bowled by Shacoya Thomas, his 71 had comprised seven fours and four sixes off 50 balls. Jamaica reached 112-1 in only 13 overs. Jamaica will play either Barbados or Leeward Islands at the Kensington Oval, Barbados on Wednesday.
