Tiffany & Co at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman recently presented a cheque to the Cayman Islands Cancer Society for $4,975. This represented a percentage of the sales made by the store on the day of the Society’s Red Dress Affair earlier this year.
Dr. Sook Yin, Medical Director of the Society and one of the organisers of the Red Dress Affair, in thanking Tiffany & Co for the donation, said that the society is looking forward to developing a partnership with Tiffany & Co in the years ahead.
Dr. Yin explained that corporate donations, such as this is vital to the society and enables it to offer the varied programmes it does to the community, especially to cancer patients and their families.
Sarah Medlicott, of Tiffany and Co explains that Tiffany & Co admires the work of organisations such as the Cancer Society in the community and this is an opportunity to recognize the effort and support the Society’s programs and activities.
The Cayman Islands Cancer Society is a non-profit organisation dedicated to preventing the development of cancer through its education programs and screening initiatives as well as to providing financial assistance to cancer patients and their families with treatment related expenses.
The society also offers counselling and support to cancer patients and their families. The Society funds its programs through donations and fundraising events.
