This coming weekend’s Cayman Classic tennis event at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman is attracting celebrities far beyond the tennis world.
The annual event, which benefits the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre, begins Friday evening with a Whites Beach Party.
On Saturday, the two-day Pro-Am tournament starts and is followed by the Cayman Classic Tennis Ball that will feature a concert by international recording star Chris Isaak.
The professional tennis players slated to take part in the tournament include Jimmy Arias, Rick Leach, Jeffrey Tarango, Petr Korda, and Brian Gottfried.
However, David Camp, vice president sales and marketing of the Residences at The Ritz-Carlton said there is also a list of other celebrities that will join the fun, many of them on the court.
‘Some of the celebrity tennis players expected to play include Law and Order’s Elizabeth Rohm; Bill Rancic, who won the first Donald Trump Apprentice television show; his wife Juliana Rancic from the E! network; and television actor Alan Thicke,’ he said.
In addition, Mr. Camp said some other celebrities are coming to watch the tennis and to just hang out and have fun, including Frankie Muniz from Malcolm in the Middle, Jason Biggs from American Pie and Mary Lynn Rajskub from the television series ’24’.
‘There could be some others, too,’ Mr. Camp said.
