Local entertainers set to shine at Jamfest

A concert featuring some of Cayman’s most popular entertainers is scheduled to be held Wednesday, 26 December, at the Harquail Theatre.

The event, from 1pm, features local artists Impulz, Musical Crew, Eldon Rankin, Soraya Taylor, Jason Morales, Georgette Bodden, J.C. Connor, Devon Edie, Amanda Berry, Roy Bodden, Evana martinez, Coolie de Cool, Dellon Myles, Edward Solomon, Roots Connection, Jason Dacosta, Lonney Love, Jerrol Rankine and Jessica Hurlston. In addition, the event will also feature comedian’s Quincy Brown and Dooksie and Abruno Bucktoe. Emcee for the show will be Edlin Myles.

‘This is a going to be a family-orientated event,’ J.C. Connor, organiser of the event said.

‘The concert will showcase some of our old school performers, such as Edlin Myles, Coolie de Cool and Edward Solomon, as well as up and coming artists such as Amanda Berry and Jessica Hurlstone.

‘We also have some very talented comedians. I have watched them and they are very good.’

Mr. Connor said that the event would last for approximately five hours and would appeal to all ages.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the New Self Help Community Foundation’s Youth Empowerment Programme and Project 2012, which aims to be operational early 2008. The project will provide arts workshops for ages 10 to 18-years-old.

Tickets are $15 prepaid, available from Funky Tangs, Reflections, and Magic International Footwear, $20 at the gate. Doors open at 1pm, show time is 2pm.
