The PricewaterhouseCoopers Cayman Islands Open Tennis Championship is back with a stack of cash to entice the keenest players.
Although this event has had a long history, dating back to 1974, this will be only the third year it has offered prize money. This year’s Open will offer a total of US$10,000 for the winners and runners-up of the men’s and women’s singles and doubles divisions. This purse is well above average for other tournaments offered in the Caribbean region.
Club pro Rob Seward said: ‘The Cayman Islands Tennis Club would like to thank and acknowledge the sponsor of this tournament, PricewaterhouseCoopers. The sponsor is responsible for all of the prize money that is being offered in hopes to attract a high level of competition for this year’s tournament.
