The Mustang track club will be returning back to Jamaica next weekend.
The club will participate in the Gibson Relays at the National Stadium in Kingston on 23 February.
The group will compete in a variety of events, including the junior girls 4x100m and 4x200m. Those events in particular will carry extra significance for the team this year.
According to Coach Tyrone Yen, the squad will look to rebound from their misstep at last year’s meet.
‘We were disqualified from the 4x100m after having the fastest time going into the finals though we won the 4x200m. This year we are determined to take both events to make up for last year’s loss and to make the Cayman Islands proud.’
The members of the club going for this meet will be Kristen Dixon, Melinda McLean, Chantelle Morrison, Ashleigh Nalty and Shayla Torres.
Accompanying the group will be Manager Sana Tugman and Coach Yen. The team will depart Grand Cayman on Friday 22 February and return on Sunday 24 February.
