CFP acquires new titles

Cayman Free Press has acquired four new titles to enhance the unique collection of publications already offered by Cayman’s oldest publishing house.

The move also consolidated the company’s future position as the country’s leading media organisation.

The Cayman Observer, Cayman Life, Cayman Financial Review and Seven South, formerly published by Tower Media Group, will now become part of CFP’s growing list of diverse titles.

‘The addition of these publications to the Cayman Free Press stable will help us offer our advertisers an even wider market exposure,’ said CFP Publisher Brian Uzzell. ‘Each of CFP’s individual titles offers clients a distinctive advertising forum and with the four new titles we will be able to add to that choice.’

The acquired publications include three high quality glossy magazines as well as a weekly paper all of which were aimed at an affluent and informed readership, offering CFP an opportunity to adapt the titles to complement its existing suite.

The Cayman Observer was launched in 2004 and focused on news from the business community. A planned new direction will offer both readers and the islands’ advertisers an entirely new insightful and multi-faceted product.

‘This is a great opportunity for the Tower Media publications to further their growth with the Cayman Free Press group while continuing the high standards that our readers and advertisers have become accustomed to,’ said Paul Byles, Tower Media Group publisher, who will continue on with CFP as an editorial consultant.

‘This is a strategic move for the future of the previous Tower Media Group titles as the strength of Cayman Free Press will allow these publications to change and expand into niche markets offering advertisers different platforms and readers more news, analysis and features,’ Mr. Uzzell said.

The existing Tower Media team will join the Cayman Free Press group of employees adding their talents and experience into an already skilled pool of media management staff. The transition does not include Tower Marketing, which will continue to operate as a separate business under the ownership of the Byles family and offer a range of marketing, consulting and market research services.

During the transition period, the Tower Media team will be housed in offices adjacent to Butterfield Bank in the Cayman Free Press building.
