Brac travel well

New uniforms to boost their already fired-up game plan last Friday night in Grand Cayman would be all Cayman Brac Stunners youth basketball team needed to win their first game in the Youth Basketball Development Series.

Fresh off the plane from the Brac and straight to the court for a quick warm-up and the second game of the series, it started with Cayman Brac Stunners up against 345 Ballers.

At the first quarter’s end, Cayman Brac led the game 6-2 with both teams trying to find their groove after a very slow start.

Stretching their lead, the Brac at half time were comfortably controlling the game 16-8.

The second half would prove to be a turning point for the 345 Ballers as they had the answer for Brac’s every move and play. Out scoring the Brac in the third and fourth quarter, 345 Ballers were now only three points behind with less than 30 seconds remaining.

A foul by Brac’s Amadello Mena sent 345 Ballers to the free-throw line where they closed the game to within two points and only four seconds left on the clock. Desperation for the 345 Ballers and a tight man-to-man marking giving away no room for movement and a play were what Brac had to do for these long four second’s.

At the buzzer, Cayman Brac Stunners had taken their first win from two games in the series by 32-30.

Cayman Brac Stunners will be back in Grand Cayman on March 28t for their third game at the Cox Basketball Court. The final game of the series is looking like it may be held in Cayman Brac on April 4t at the CBHS campus.
