Special treat for Brac children

Toddlers from the Cayman Brac Day Care Centre took in the sights of Grand Cayman recently during a day-long field trip.

The 20 boys and girls, along with teachers, parents and guardians, had a full itinerary. Arriving on an early-morning flight, they ate breakfast before visiting the Butterfly Farm.

Sightseeing and swimming at the Turtle Farm followed and the children were able to fit in some playtime at the South Sound Community Park before returning home on the evening flight.

‘We are very grateful for all the assistance given to us,’ said Cayman Brac Day Care Cantre Director Neila Jones.

‘This trip has enabled our children to experience learning on a different level. Opportunities for experiences such as these are limited on the Brac.

‘Our aim at the Centre is to provide our children with opportunities for learning that will be memorable and fun, and we hope to do this again in the future.’

Ground transportation for the day was provided cost-free by Tropicana Tours’ owner Rollin Jackson, himself a native Bracker. The special event was also supported by Cayman Airways and the school’s PTA.

‘This was a great learning experience, and a special treat for the entire school family,’ said Early Childhood Officer for the Sister Islands April Tibbetts.
