Protect birds

As a visitor to your island for more than 20 years, I was saddened to see the decimating effects of the hurricane on the bird population of your island.

I learned they are beginning to increase again but face an even more serious, and this time permanent threat with loss of habitat due to development.

There is a Natural Protection Bill in place and if this can be passed into law this summer the creatures of the air and sea will be protected in the same way as the magnificent marine life of the island.

I urge Caymanians to exercise this immensely important stewardship and pass into law the protection bill.
