The second weekend in March was a busy one for the European office of the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism, with three of the most significant trade and consumer shows held almost simultaneously over the same dates.
Regional Manager Don McDougall’s team shared their skills and resources to maximum effect ensuring that the destination enjoyed high profile coverage at each event, with assistance from Cayman’s private sector, said a press release.
The Cayman Islands always enjoys a popular reception at the London International Dive Show, which took place at London’s ExCel Exhibition Centre in the Docklands over the weekend of 8 and 9 March.
This year’s show received an estimated 14,000 visitors.
The world’s biggest trade fair for the tourism industry, ITB, also enjoyed its annual global gathering of the great and the good from the industry in Berlin over the weekend of 8 and 9 March. The show, in fact, lasts for five days, of which half is dedicated to trade.
Finally, the fifth annual ‘Unite Caribbean’ event was held on Monday 10 March in London. Timed to coincide with those attending ITB, Unite Caribbean is an informal workshop-style event designed to provide the perfect opportunity for tour operators and specialist agents to hold pre-booked one-on-one meetings with hotels, airlines, ground handlers and car hire companies within the Caribbean region.
