National Security Council a bad idea

A country’s government cannot have a say in police matters. Separation of powers is key to having a thriving democracy.

An example of a highly centralised government is that of the USA. However, they are different from us not only in their culture but of their government structure (presidential vs. parliamentary). It doesn’t and won’t work for us!

Separation of powers keeps checks and balances in place which prevents coercion, deception and misuse of power. When people have too much power, there’s no guarantee how ethical they will be, as past examples all over the world can attest.

Hear me as a young Caymanian scholar. Unless they are matters of security on an international level – war, embargo, etc. – I feel this is unnecessary. I don’t see how the removal of top officers can lead to such an aggressive opinion/decision as the government has said.
