Tourism industry leaders joined team members of Cayman Islands PRIDE on Tuesday 8 April for an after-hours networking event where they learned more about Cayman PRIDE and its free workshops.
Attendees found out how Cayman PRIDE will benefit their businesses in terms of enhanced customer service and met the trainers who will conduct the workshops, said a press release.
While this event was geared primarily to members of the tourism industry, the core essence of Cayman PRIDE – making a commitment to take Personal Responsibility In Delivering Excellence – is an attitude which, once adopted, becomes a way of life which will establish a culture of service excellence throughout the Cayman Islands, the release noted.
The first workshops which are available are Promises – an interactive workshop where participants learn about customer service and their role in creating positive visitor experiences; and Leading the Promises which is designed for managers and supervisors, providing basic management training and ensuring that the employees’ work environment supports the training provided in the Promises workshop.
Following on Foundations training will take place. This leadership training workshop takes the knowledge learned to its ultimate test in the actual work environment, dealing with day-to-day encounters with our guests.
The event took place at The National Gallery. Director of the gallery, Mrs. Nancy Barnard and the National Gallery staff donated the use of their venue, ‘… because the concept of Cayman PRIDE is one which the entire Cayman Islands must embrace if we are to retain our leadership position in Caribbean tourism. We applaud the Ministry and Department of Tourism for its investment in Cayman PRIDE and we encourage everyone to become involved and to support Cayman PRIDE in whatever way they can,’ commented Mrs. Barnard.
Attendees not only received valuable business information, but were also able to indulge their artistic side by enjoying the spectacular Cayfest exhibition currently on display at the gallery. ‘We hope that the entire community will embrace and exhibit Cayman PRIDE as zealously as The National Gallery has,’ commented Mr. Darren Zucker, Project Manager.
