Students at Montessori by the Sea recently held a dress down day to benefit the Cayman Islands Cancer Society.
Children in the school’s lower elementary class were given the assignment of researching various charities and deciding which one they would like to support with the money raised from ‘dress down days’.
Once the research was complete, the children voted and the Cayman Islands Cancer Society came up tops.
A sum of $99.50 used by a teacher in counting projects was also added to the funds making it a total of CI$224.32
Christine Sanders of the Cancer Society indicated that the funds will be used to help a child who has been diagnosed with the disease with travelling expenses to Miami.
