Women and kids get hooked too

The Cayman Islands Angling Club held a two day tournament for women and juniors last week at Kaibo and it was a roaring success.

Organiser Megan Bodden said: ‘There are international tournaments for women and juniors but none on a local level. So being a woman angler myself, I decided to promote one.’

The were many categories. The winners were: third heaviest fish – Katrina Ebanks/Outcast/ 30.4 lbs wahoo. Second heaviest fish – Shelley Ware/Run Things/ 30.6 lbs Wahoo. Heaviest fish – Harriett Ebanks/Run Things III/ 42.5 lbs Wahoo.

Angler with most weight overall – Shelley Ware – Total 96.2lbs. Angler with most fish weighed – Megan Bodden – 6 fish. Angler with Marlin Release – Dolcy Pennicock

Total fish weighed in by the ladies – 22 fish
